Glenn Giovannoni: Who I am.

Summary

My views and accomplishments

I Glenn Giovannoni want to serve on Isleton's City Council. I have a strong will, a decisive voice, a positive attitude, able to change my mind if shown reasons and am not afraid to take stands on issues. I see Isleton's future with economic growth, community pride and involvement. I've served as Vice Chairman on Isleton's Planning Commission in the past and currently serve as Chairman. My recent accomplishments are: Found errors in our Sanitation contract detrimental to Isleton's citizens and indentified qualified Sanitation companies interested in bidding for Isleton's service. Helped eliminate two problematic drug properties. Providing a strong direction and voice to Isleton's Planning Commission. Encouraged a crime-plagued business to attend Commission meetings to resolve their crime and trespassing issues. Propelling adoption of yearly fire inspections in downtown businesses. Acting and causing removal of an aggressive pit bull. Updating the Animal Complaint and Nuisance Abatement forms. Revising Isleton's Citation Administration Ordinance to better administer fines. Discovering and informing the Council and Commission on parking issues allowing new businesses to open.

I'm a pro-active citizen and have the heart of Isleton beating deep inside me. Please make your vote count and vote Glenn Giovannoni for City Council.

  • Promote niche economic opportunities more fitting for Isleton
  • Encourage growing efficiency with existing infrastructure and resources
  • Foster creative avenues for problem-solving in the community
Profession:Incumbent
Council member, City of Isleton — Elected position (2011current)
California State University, Sacramento Bachelor of Arts, Communication Studies (1990)
Board secretary, Isleton Brannan Andrus Historical Society (2005current)

I have been a resident of the City of Isleton since 1969. I am an alumni of Isleton Elementary, Rio Vista High School, and California State University, Sacramento. While attending college and working in Sacramento I commuted from my Isleton home for the duration. Several years after college I endured a workplace closure in Sacramento and had to work in other cities, all the while commuting from my Isleton home. I have been a hands-on volunteer in various community organizations. One of these organizations is currently in the midst of renovating a future museum located in the Main Street nationally registered historic district. More recently I am also helping staff a local business in the same district positively contributing towards the sales tax increment citywide. With your support I can continue to contribute towards sustainment of Isleton infrastructure.

Having been a resident in the city as long as I have, there seem to be periods of small economic spurts and deep downturns with the economic cycles correlating with limiting behavior surrounding such. Isleton being a considerable distance to many amenities needs to develop itself as a niche business community in order to sustain itself starting a basic level. Growth can happen gradually in order to establish sustainability.
