My Top 3 Priorities

  • Public Safety is the County's number one priority. I'll ensure our Deputies, Justice, Probation, Firefighters and EMT's have the resources to protect families and our way of life.
  • Responsible Budgets - Government wastes too much money. I'll fight for responsible budgets to ensure Sacramento County Remains fiscally strong.
  • Jobs - Job growth will increase revenues to the County without raising taxes. I'll fight for reduced taxes, regulations, fees and agressive homeless. I'll find ways to invigorate our economy.

Elected to Citrus Heights City Council in 2012.  Mayor of Citrus Heights in 2015.  Served on multiple regional boards including Sacramento Transportation Authority, Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District, Local Area Formation Commission, Greater Sacramento Economic Council and more.

My Top 3 Priorities

  • Grow the Economy and Create Good Paying Jobs - Reduce red tape and regulations, so small businesses can grow & create good paying jobs. We need to improve transportation & address the cost of living, so businesses will want to relocate and grow here.
  • Balance the County Budget Without New or Higher Taxes - We need a realistic county budget that eliminates waste and motivates results…and is sustainable in good and bad economic times.
  • Fight Crime to Keep our Neighborhoods and Schools Safe - Fully fund law enforcement to ensure they have the tools and staffing needed to keep people safe. This includes improving county & mental health services to help the homeless.

Biography

Mike is the top sales executive for Johnson Controls, Inc. in California, where he works with school districts across the state to reduce energy use and utility expenses.  As an effective project manager, the work he doing eliminates nearly $3m of annual utility expenses from California school district budgets.  Mike is currently a board member of the School Energy Coalition (SEC) and the Vista del Lago High School Athletic Boosters.  He is an active in the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH), the Lean Construction Institute, Region Business, USA Track & Field, and the National Federation of High School Coaches Association.  He is a past board member of the national Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS).

Mike is also actively involved in the community.  He is the Head Coach of the Vista del Lago High School Track and Field – League and Section Champions.  You can hear his enthusiasm as the announcer for the Vista del Lago Eagles football and basketball teams.  He has served as a Cub Scout leader and a Little League baseball coach.

As an athlete himself, Mike won his age group in Masters High Jump and is a four-time champion for Northern California’s section of USA Track and Field. 

Mike and his wife Kim live in Folsom with their three children.
